Bobbie 4.0: Are windows with sealant edges suitable for the robot?

The window robots must be able to turn well. Since the robot itself is 25cmx25cm and therefore needs more space when turning, 50x50cm is the minimum surface area on which the robot can function.

The sealant edge ensures that the robot does not detect the edges of the window and will not get stuck on the edge.

A sealant edge of 2 to a maximum of 3 mm will still allow the robot to function. Larger will not.

Bobbie 4.0: The window robot does not go up

1. The robot's tracks do not have good grip on the surface.

The cleaning cloth is too wet, causing the tracks to slip. Make sure the cloth is slightly damp but not wet.
It is possible that the tracks have become dirty over time. This can cause them to slip. Clean them thoroughly with a damp (not wet) cloth.
It is also possible that the windows are dirtier at certain times of the year, making more frequent cleaning advisable and requiring the cloth to be replaced/cleaned more often.

Clean the tracks by following the steps below;

Turn on the robot by pressing the button on top of the robot.
Press the track cleaning button on the remote control (in the middle of the 5 bottom icons), the tracks will then start to rotate.
Hold a clean, damp cleaning cloth against the tracks to wipe off the dirt.
Dry the tracks with a clean cloth and press the button on the remote control again to stop the rotation.

2. It is important to place the robot far enough (30cm) from the edge on the window.

3. Make sure the cloth does not protrude beyond the robot. If this is the case, the sensors will not work and the robot will not move away from the edge / be able to turn.

Bobbie 4.0: The robot does not finish its program.

First, check if the backup battery is fully charged.
If not, the robot will stop in the middle of its program.
It is important to place the robot far enough (30cm) from the edge of the window.
Make sure the cloth does not stick out beyond the robot. If this is the case, the sensors will not work and the robot will not be able to move away from the edge / turn.

If the robot still does not clean the entire window after this, it is important that you clean your window thoroughly yourself before using the robot. It may be that the window has been dirty for too long, causing the robot's rubber tracks to become too dirty and thus make less good contact. It is also important to then check whether Bobbie's rubber tracks are clean. Clean them by following the steps below;

Turn on the robot using the button on top of the robot
Press the belt cleaning button on the remote control (middle button in the center of the 5 icons) and the rubber tracks will start to rotate.
Hold a clean damp cloth against the belts to wipe off the dirt.
Dry the rubber tracks with a clean cloth and press the same button on the remote control again to stop the rotation of the rubber tracks.

Bobbie 4.0: What is the safety cable for?

The rope is a mandatory safety feature. This is to prevent the robot from falling on someone if it were to come loose.
This is, of course, extra important for windows that are not on the ground floor.

The cable also prevents the robot from hitting the ground if it falls.

The robot will not fall easily.
Firstly, the battery will ensure that the robot remains attached in the event of a power interruption.
Secondly, if the window is too wet, the robot will slide (and squeak) but not immediately fall.

Bobbie 4.0: Can you wash the cleaning cloth?"

The cloths are machine washable at 30 °C with a mild detergent (without fabric softener).
They can be reused many times and are also suitable for damp use.

Between cleanings, you can simply rinse the cloth under the tap, wring it out well, and reuse it immediately. This way, you don't need a new cloth for every window.

Bobbie 4.0: Use on windows and tiles with grout

The window cleaning robot works with a vacuum system to adhere to the surface. In some cases, the robot may not function properly on windows or tiles with grout lines.

Loss of vacuum due to grout lines:
If there is air between the grout lines – for example, because the grout line is too deep or too wide – the robot may lose its vacuum power. This happens when air is drawn in through these openings.
The robot functions best when the grout line is a maximum of 4 mm deep. With deeper grout lines or larger gaps, there is a greater chance that the vacuum will drop and the robot will lose grip.

Uneven surfaces and sensors:
With glass panes or tiles that are not flat (for example, if one panel is deeper than the adjacent one), the robot's collision sensor may still detect these height differences. This makes the robot think that the surface continues, when it does not. In such cases, it may continue to drive and eventually fall off the window.

Edge detection and fall protection:
The robot is equipped with sensors that detect whether there is still a surface beneath it. For example, if there is no frame or edge next to the window, the robot notices that there is no surface left. The sensor then activates, after which the robot automatically stops or returns.

Bobbie 4.0: How do I get my windows really clean?

It is very important that the robot is used regularly. The robot uses little water and can therefore remove small amounts of dirt well, but not stubborn or large amounts of dirt at once.

It is advisable to;

Always ensure clean cloths and replace them in between if the windows do not become properly clean.
The cloths can be washed in the washing machine at 30-40 degrees.

We strongly recommend cleaning the windows by hand before the first use. So that ingrained dirt is removed. If the windows have previously been washed or cleaned with a product such as Glassex, the window must first be thoroughly cleaned with a little cleaning vinegar or/and all-purpose cleaner. Products such as Glassex leave a film behind, which could cause Bobbie to streak or slip.
Tip: The easiest way is to let the dirt soak first by wetting it thoroughly.

After the first cleaning, it is advisable to use Bobbie/Evert frequently. This way the windows stay nice and clean.

If there is a lot of sand on the windows, it is advisable to let the robot clean once with a dry cloth and without spray function. This is to prevent model formation. Afterwards, the robot can be used again with spray. It is best to use osmosis water/demineralized or boiled and cooled water with a dash of cleaning vinegar. Otherwise, limescale can cause streaks and the spray system can become clogged.

- For Bobbie (without water spray) you can use a little all-purpose cleaner in the manual spray bottle.

- For Bobbie with water spray you can put a little all-purpose cleaner in the small reservoir (18ml).

- For Evert do not add any cleaning agent.

Under no circumstances use Glassex (or similar), this causes streaks and leaves a greasy layer on the windows.
To remove this layer first, the windows must be cleaned with plenty of water and a little cleaning vinegar before the window robot is used.
Due to weather conditions, the windows may become dirtier or, for example, more humid. Therefore, the robot may need to be used more often in these cases to get the windows completely clean. Make sure the robot gets clean cloths in between.

It is possible that the tracks may have become somewhat dirty over time.
This can cause it to slip. In addition, it is important to keep the cloth clean.

Bobbie 4.0: Reset to connect

We have instructions on how to 'reset' the robot so that it can connect.

Connect the robot to the connection cable. You do not need to let the robot vacuum.
Press the top right button on the remote control.
Disconnect the robot from the power cable, and then reconnect it to the power cable.
If the robot does not immediately appear in the App, you can press this button on the remote control again (without the robot vacuuming), and then the robot will be found in the App.

Bobbie 4.0: Does the robot work wirelessly?

Both Bobbie and Evert must always have the power cable connected. The battery is only there to ensure that it does not fall down in the event of a power interruption.

Bobbie 4.0: The robot leaves streaks due to the rubber tracks

Follow the steps below to clean the rubber tracks:

a), Switch on by pressing the button on top of the robot
b), When the robot is on (not working) you can press the circled button on the remote control to make the rubber tracks spin.
c), Hold a clean cloth against the rubber tracks to wipe off the dirt
d), Dry the rubber tracks again with a clean cloth.
