The window robots must be able to turn well. Since the robot itself is 25cmx25cm and therefore needs more space when turning, 50x50cm is the minimum surface area on which the robot can function.
The sealant edge ensures that the robot does not detect the edges of the window and will not get stuck on the edge.
A sealant edge of 2 to a maximum of 3 mm will still allow the robot to function. Larger will not.
