Harm & Berta: Red LED charging station or F1 message
Only use boundary wire from Zoef Robot.
- Experience shows that with other cables, problems are certain to occur.
As a result, it takes a lot of time and effort to find the cause!
If it is a Zoef Robot cable then;
- The boundary wire is interrupted.
- First check if the boundary wire is properly connected to the charging station.
(move the connectors a bit and check if the LED turns green.) - If it does turn green occasionally;
- Unplug the charging station from the wall socket.
- Remove the connectors from the boundary wire and reconnect them.
Press them firmly shut with pliers and do not strip the cable.
If the above does not work and you doubt whether there is really a break in the cable. Then do the following;
- Take a small piece of boundary wire (10 to 30cm) and attach the connectors and connect them.
- If the LED turns continuously green, the boundary wire has a break somewhere.
- Locate the break. This can be done manually by going along the cable and feeling and looking for any damage or white residue on the cable sheath.
- Replace the piece of cable where the break is with cable connectors suitable for underground use. You can find these here.
Harm & Berta: Placement and connection charging station
Make sure the robotic lawnmower is facing the right way. The side the arrow points to should be towards the lawn. This way, the mower drives away from the charging station and can complete its route.
Connect the boundary wire (in red) under the charging station to the plus connection on the left. Connect the other wire to the minus connection on the right.
Harm & Berta: Error message or strange behavior?
If robot lawnmower Harm or Berta feels a lot of resistance, it will go into Spot mode. This means it will drive in a small circle or spiral shape.
- Make sure the underside of the mower is clean.
- Set the cutting blade higher. The resistance of the grass may be high because the grass is thick and dense and therefore offers a lot of resistance. Replace the blades if necessary.
- The robot can detect the boundary wire up to +/- 15 meters (max 18m). This means that the distance from wire to wire should not be greater than 30 meters anywhere. Over time, the wire will lie deeper and will therefore be more difficult to detect. With an eye to the future, it is therefore wise not to deviate from this.
It can happen that the robot lawnmower Berta or Harm often gives an error message (E2).
- Check that the front wheels extend and retract properly and rotate. As shown below. If this is not the case, clean them and lubricate them with grease or WD40.
- Make sure the underside of the mower is clean.
- Set the cutting blade higher. The resistance of the grass may be high because the grass is thick and dense and therefore offers a lot of resistance. Replace the blades if necessary.
For other errors and messages, consult the manual for solutions;
Handleiding Harm 2.0 page 33 for error messages.
Handleiding Berta page 33 for error messages.
If none of this helps, we can perform a software update on the robot.
To do this, send an email with a clear problem description and what you have already tried, preferably with a video, to service@zoefrobot.nl. You can also send the video via Whatsapp, but make sure we know who it is from and that the above information has been provided.
Harm & Berta: Connecting to the APP is not possible.
Berta and Harm
- These mowers use a Wifi extender to connect to the Robot2mow APP.
- When establishing the connection, make sure to press the Wifi extender button 1x briefly . (Do not hold it down now!)
- Make sure the code on the mower is the same as the one on the Wifi extender.
If it doesn't work, try all up 0000 - Make sure you are using the correct Wifi network and the correct Wifi password!
Follow the steps in the APP manual
Harm & Berta: I want to place the mower in a garden shed.
It is important that the mower has free space at the front and rear as indicated in the manual.
The mower will make an arc around the charging station at the start and then begin mowing the edges.
If the mower is in a garden shed, this will not work.
The mower can be placed under a cover or just a small house for the mower.
Also, take a look at the videos below to see how the mower starts and drives around.

Harm & Berta: Does the robot mower work with an App?"""
Berta and Harm
- Harm and Berta are available with and without an APP. They look exactly the same. However, they are two different devices.
- The only difference between the Harm/Berta with and without an APP is the operation.
- With the APP version, planning can be done per day.
- With the normal version, it automatically goes every 48 hours.
- The versions with APP can be switched ON and OFF remotely.
- The versions with APP are separate versions and therefore cannot be updated/upgraded to a version with APP.
Harm & Berta: does not turn on/Display does not work.
- The robot is probably not properly charged.
Step 1; Is there a good connection between the robot and the charging station?
- Clean the contact points of the robotic lawnmower and the charger thoroughly with a scouring pad.
- Is the charging station completely flat (so that the robot cannot roll backward and lose contact)?
- Place the robot manually on the charging station.
- Is the robot charging now?
Step 2; Is the charging station functioning properly?
- Check if the green LED on the charger starts flashing when the robotic lawnmower is on the charging station, until the battery is fully charged. If it stops charging within a few minutes, the contact is probably not good enough.
- Check if the boundary wire is properly connected. Strip it again or place the clamp a little further up the cable.
- Check if the LED light remains stable when you gently move the cable at the connection.
If it is not good, strip the cable back a little further. Or (for Harm and Betra) move the connector back a little further on the cable. - If it only lights up continuously, this means that the boundary wire is good but it is not charging or the mower is already fully charged.
- To check if the mower is not already fully charged, you should remove the mower from the charging station for 1 to 2 days and then test again whether the LED starts flashing green when it is placed on the charging station.
Step 3; Turn the mower ON/OFF several times.
- When the mower is on the charging station and the mower is charging, the green LED will flash and after a while the display will start working again.
- For Harm, it is also advisable to remove the battery (turn Harm upside down, the battery cover is on the back with 4 screws) and spray the contacts with a contact spray.
If none of this helps, we can check the robotic lawnmower for you.
Harm & Berta: Set up via the APP
- Ensure the mower is connected to the APP according to the manual.
- Set the desired time in the APP.
- Move the slider so that Orange is visible and press SET DONE
- The APP should display SUCCESS at the bottom of the screen.
If the mower does not start at the set time. First clear the mower's memory by;
- Clear all times from the mower by setting all sliders in the APP to grey.
- Move the slider so that grey is visible (i.e. no orange) and press SET DONE
- The APP should display SUCCESS at the bottom of the screen.
- Now set up the APP again as described above.
