The first round of your new robot vacuum cleaner

Getting started with your new robot vacuum cleaner.

You have your new robot vacuum cleaner at home and want it to run its first cleaning route quickly. Setting up and maintaining your cleaning assistant seems more difficult than it is. In this article, we tell you what to look out for when you use your robot for the first time. This way, you can be sure that it performs well and that it lasts as long as possible.

Take the robot vacuum cleaner out of its packaging and carefully lay all parts next to each other. Follow the steps below to prepare your new robot vacuum cleaner for its first cleaning round:

Step 1: prepare your home for the robot vacuum cleaner

Step 2: place the charging station

Step 3: set up the robot vacuum cleaner

Step 4: maintain your robot vacuum cleaner

Step 1: Prepare your home for the robot vacuum cleaner

Remove any obstacles that may hinder the robot during its work. This includes loose cables, toys, or small objects that are in the way. It will drive over cables, but it is advisable to move small cables aside to prevent the robot vacuum cleaner from getting stuck.

Step 2: Place the charging station in the right spot

Place the charging station against a wall and make sure it has enough space to drive onto it. If the emptying station is in an inaccessible place, the robot may have difficulty finding the station, which can lead to confusion or incomplete charging.

Step 3: Set up the robot vacuum cleaner via the Zoef Robot smart app

All robot vacuum cleaners are easy to set up via the Zoef Robot smart app. Follow the instructions in the app to prepare the robot for use. Make sure to fully charge the robot the first time. This helps calibrate the battery, making it last longer. Often, the robot creates a map of your home during its first cleaning round, after which you can easily set a cleaning schedule for the week. For example, you can set it to vacuum the living room every morning at 10 AM and then automatically return to the emptying station to recharge and empty the dustbin, even when no one is home.

Step 4: Maintenance of the robot vacuum cleaner

After the first cleaning round, you can often let the robot do its work without much attention. Nevertheless, it is important to perform regular maintenance to maintain the robot's performance and lifespan:

  • Empty the dustbin regularly. It is better to empty the bin more often than too little. This happens automatically with the emptying station.
  • For safety, you can check the following things: the brushes, the filter, the wheels, and the sensors for blockages from hair or other dirt, and clean them if necessary.
